Mack TWINS: DETROIT
SUMMARY:
Purchase, renovation, and activation of caddy-corner garages in Detroit’s Indian Village. Completed May 2020.
Overview:
Prince Concepts purchased caddy-corner properties at Mack Ave and Fischer in Detroit’s Indian Village. 8700 Mack Ave (yellow building) was a former 1,100 SF abandoned car Wash that was renovated and converted into a creative studio. Prince Concepts oversaw the renovation and hired Ishtiaq Rafiuddin to design it; the building sits on a 5,000 SF lot. The building was completed in January of 2020, and sold in May of 2020 to a photographer who will use the property as an office and photo studio. The corner across the street includes 3715 Fischer, 8619 Mack Ave, and 8635 Mack Ave - which has a 2,200 SF former auto shop across 18,500 SF of land. Prince Concepts leased the garage back to the seller for 18 months, and then renovated and leased the property to Detroit Body Garage, a community gym run by Terra Castro. Detroit Body Garage hired their own architect for the project, and Prince Concepts oversaw their renovation. The gym is set to open June 1, 2020.
